Given that poverty is at the root of food insecurity, we believe fully in the importance of paying a living wage. We are thrilled to be officially recognized as a certified living wage employer at the Champion Level.
Minimum wage is set by the provincial government and is the legislated minimum all employers must pay, while a living wage reflects what people need to earn in order to cover the actual costs of living in their community. The living wage is calculated on the needs of a family of four, with two adults each working full-time, full-year.

If we don't have any open positions listed, you can:

• Participate in other TNDF programs
• Donate to our work, or host a food drive or fundraiser
What is the minimum age required to volunteer?
You must be at least 14 years of age to volunteer at TNDF. Volunteers between the ages of 14-17 require signed consent from their parent/legal guardian
Do you require record checks?
TNDF's volunteer program strives to minimize barriers to participating. While certain positions involve direct interaction with vulnerable populations (such as seniors or children), others do not. If you would like to learn more about our requirements or express interest in a low-barrier position, please reach out to Beth at beth@tndf.ca or 705-432-2444.
TNDF will provide a supporting letter for obtaining a record check. Please note that the volunteer is responsible for covering the expenses associated with obtaining a record check. If the cost poses a barrier, please let Jenn know to discuss potential alternatives.
Do you have volunteer opportunities for groups?
TNDF may have group volunteer opportunities available for you and your colleagues, teammates, or friends. Please contact beth@tndf.ca or 705-432-2444 so we can get a better sense of the number of people in your group, your group's availability, etc.
We offer secondary and post-secondary students opportunities to harness their skills, gain real-world experience, and make a lasting impact in the community.
