Maple Tree Community Garden
Tucked down beside McCaskill’s Mills Public School you’ll find a beautiful allotment-style community garden, with an orchard and berry bushes. Many members have been working on their plots for more than 10 years, and the dedication shows.

Do you have a green thumb and/or the desire to grow your own food? Apply for a garden plot at Maple Tree Community Garden (MTCG)!
We established MTCG as a way to nurture the community and promote local food growing. It’s a place to gather, socialize, learn, exchange information, and grow.
MTCG operates on about an acre of private property with 30+ plots, a small orchard, a TNDF-run community plot, a gazebo, and several landscaped seating areas. The garden exercises organic growing practices, and gardeners can access tools, inputs like mulch and compost when available, and water. Gardeners tend to their plots during the term of annual memberships from April to October.

Seed Library
Seed saving and sharing help preserve biodiversity and strengthen our community’s connection to the land.
Plant, Care, Share
Our Seed Library is a free, community-powered way to plant, care for, and share food. Take seeds, grow what you can, then save and return seeds to support food security, connection, and nourishment for neighbours.
From heirloom tomatoes to aromatic herbs and vibrant flowers, we’ve got a wide variety of seeds to suit every gardener’s taste and preference.

How it Works:
Garden Starters
Garden Starters are curated seed bundles designed to make growing food simple, approachable, and fun.
Each Garden Starter includes 4–6 seed packets that fit a theme, so whether you’re planting with little ones, growing ingredients for homemade pasta night, or creating a pollinator-friendly garden, we’ve got you covered.
As part of our Seed Library, Garden Starters are completely free. Take one home, plant what you can, care for it as it grows, and when the season ends, consider saving seeds to return and keep our library thriving.
Garden Starters are available at our building and on the road with our Mobile Food Market, making it easier than ever to plant, care, and share.
