Helping Immigrants Settle in Canada
Community Development Council Durham offers confidential, culturally sensitive information and referral services at no cost for newcomers and immigrants in the Durham Region.
CDCD Settlement Services can help you get information on:
- Orientation/Settlement into Durham Region
- Help with Immigration applications and documents as well as other essential government applications and benefits such as Canada Child Benefit (CCB), Ontario Works (OW), Social Insurance Number (SIN), Old Age Pension (OAP) etc.
- Permanent Residency
- Help to make community connections, access education, employment and related training
- English Classes
- Information on community programs, services, legal aid, life skills, healthcare, childcare, and more
- Housing Supports
- Medical Supports including Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) for uninsured persons
- Affidavits, Travel Consents and Letters of Invitation
