Frequently Asked Questions

Both financial contributions and donations of food and material goods play vital roles in supporting our work. The most helpful choice depends on various factors, and both types of donations offer unique advantages:

Funds:

Flexibility: Monetary donations provide flexibility for us to allocate funds where they are most needed.

Efficiency: Financial donations often allow us to make the most efficient use of resources. We can negotiate discounts, buy in bulk, and leverage partnerships to maximize the impact of every dollar.

Adaptability: In times of crisis or changing circumstances, monetary donations enable us to adapt quickly. We can redirect funds to address urgent needs or invest in long-term solutions.

Food and Material Goods:

Direct Impact: Donations of food and material goods directly address immediate needs, without our team needing to place and wait for a purchase order. They can provide essential items to individuals and families, offering tangible support during challenging times.

Community Engagement: Collecting and distributing physical items can foster a sense of community engagement. It allows individuals to actively participate in the giving process and witness the impact of their contributions.

As a registered charity, we issue official tax receipts for donations of $20 CAD or more.

If you would like your donation to go to a particular program or initiative, please be sure to note this when you make your donation.

We prefer that donations be delivered, but we may be able to pick up your donation, depending on the timing and the size of the donation.
