Social Service Access Points

TNDF partners with a number of Social Service and Governmental agencies in an effort to increase accessibility to our community members. We regularly host organizations that can help with employment, income supports, tax filing, and much more.

Access Points

We’ve partnered with the following organizations to increase access to their services for residents of North Durham, by giving them regular access to a meeting space on site.

AIDS Committee of Durham Region

Available on request offering harm reduction supplies.

Durham Community Legal Clinic

Offers free legal services to low-income residents of Durham Region once a month.

Family Services Durham

Offers individual, couple, and family counselling to people who live or work in Durham Region. They can help with a wide range of issues, such as anger, bullying, grief, self-esteem, and trauma.

Service Canada

Offers support with Employment Insurance, Old Age Security, Guaranteed Income Supplement, Canadian Pension Plan, Social Insurance Numbers, and passport applications every 3 months.

Durham Region Social Services

Offers information about the Ontario Works program, supports with the transition to the Ontario Disability Support Program, and connects clients to social service supports. Present every second and last Monday of the month by appointment and drop-in.

META Employment Services

Offers employment services, workshops, and specialized employment support for people with disabilities biweekly on Wednesdays from 11:30 AM - 1 PM.

Durham Community Health Center

Receive on site testing for Hepatitis C in 20 minutes, talk to a professional and get valuable information and resources on Hepatitis C on the 4th Wednesday of every month.

Durham Mental Health Services Peer Support Group

Group support for community members living with mental health issues focusing on recovery. Share experiences and relate to others experiencing similar things.

DMHS - Peer Support Group offers psycho-educational groups, social groups and Wellness Recovery Action Plan access. Every Tuesday from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM.

Durham College Community Employment Services

Meet one on one with a case manager to receive job search and resume building support a long with information and access to free training opportunities.
1st and 3rd Thursday of every month.

Alzheimer's Society

COMING SOON

Minds in Motion Program is "coming soon" in September: Program for people living with early to mid-stage dementia to experience meaningful and beneficial socialization through a variety of activities. Starting September 23rd.
