Big Changes to our Community Green Space

Big Changes Coming to TNDF’s Community Green Space 🎉

The gazebo you know and love is getting a new lease on life this summer...

thanks to the support of Civic Grid and funding from The Charity Tree!

The green space beside our Food Bank and Community Hub will soon be transformed into an even more welcoming, accessible, and sustainable space for the whole community to enjoy.

Whether it’s stopping to rest on a walk, catching up with a friend, or participating in one of our programs, this spot is part of daily life in Cannington. Soon, it will feature:

  • New seating, landscaping, and lighting

  • An accessible layout designed for all ages and abilities

  • Public charging ports for phones or small devices

  • A clean energy battery system that supports sustainability and lowers our energy bills

  • More opportunities for community education around energy and the environment

This project is led by TNDF board member Max Fine and his innovative company, Civic Grid, which designs clean energy infrastructure to enhance public spaces and community connection.

Construction begins mid-July and will continue through the fall. While the space will be temporarily closed during this time, all TNDF programs and services will continue as usual.

We’re so grateful for this investment in our shared space—and we can’t wait to welcome you back into a greener, more vibrant gathering place later this year.
